Why Should I Use Type 316 Stainless Steel?

Compared to the common type 304 or type 18-8 stainless steels, type 316 stainless provides the highest resistance to rust and corrosion when it comes to fasteners and/or pipe fittings.

Type 316 stainless steel can withstand harsh conditions and is an absolute must in any type of salt water (marine), coastal, pool, food industry, hospitals, waste water or water treatment environment.

The salty air/water of coastal regions will quickly destroy the more common stainless types which of course leads to more frequent repairs and ultimately higher costs.
